IMPROV | By David Zinck
On Thursday, January 14th DHS Improv teams took the stage at Cole Harbour High School for an exhibition round of the Canadian Improv Games. Each team performed two events to an appreciative audience of parents, coaches, and other players. After the performances the teams got feedback on their performances.
There are three teams representing Dartmouth High School this year at the Canadian Improv Games. The Basic InZinckts made up of Sara Graham, Claire Graham, Maddie Doyle, Luke Campbell, Dylan Jackson, Drew Blair, and Owen Landry. They performed a creepy exploration of a psychological thriller based upon the suggestion of Sandwich Artist and a first flight experience Life event based upon the suggestions of "I believe I can Fly" and "Hello".
The Zinckchronized Swimmers, represented by Saxon Pretty, Taylor Arbuckle, Emily McInnis, Christian Alcantara, Guilia Wilson, Ceitidh MacGregor, Donald Burton and Kate Englehutt performed a western themed life event inspired by the suggestion of Cactus and a fantasy themed style event inspired by a Whisk.
And everyone's current favorites, the DHS Lightning made up of all grade nines and tens rocked the stage with a dreamy character event and a great story event set in a video arcade that ended up in a video game world. The Lightning were Emily Bezanson, Rosalie Prime, Zofia MacKenzie, Keelin Nash, Hailey Finley, Abbey Gaines and Liev Grude.
It was a great round of play and sets the teams up well for the Regional Finals on February 16th to 20th at St. Matthew's Church in Halifax. See you there!
