The ocean is wide
You can't see its end at all
What's across the sea?
The grass stretches up
To you, it seems to tower
And tickle your nose
Our food grows in fields
Where wild bison once roamed
Maybe they still do
Water ripples through the stones
A background to the buzzing of bugs
The forest is a calm place
Leaves fall off the tree
As if they were dead
And the tree was a corpse
Light shines through the curtains
Birds peeping in the cool dawn air
Ready to spread their wings
How can the sky
Be cloudless in the morning
But not at noon
You can't see its end at all
What's across the sea?
The grass stretches up
To you, it seems to tower
And tickle your nose
Our food grows in fields
Where wild bison once roamed
Maybe they still do
Water ripples through the stones
A background to the buzzing of bugs
The forest is a calm place
Leaves fall off the tree
As if they were dead
And the tree was a corpse
Light shines through the curtains
Birds peeping in the cool dawn air
Ready to spread their wings
How can the sky
Be cloudless in the morning
But not at noon
